The Regular Session of the Environmental Affairs Committee was called to order at 7:00 pm with Chair Doug Wolf presiding.

Coordinator Backe updated members on the following:

C. Committee Updates
Members discussed the following:
• The school proposal for Kelley Park
• Primary elections
• Recycling seminars
D. Recycling at City facilities discussion with Ron Kaczmarek
Capital Projects/Facilities Division Chief Kaczmarek updated members on recycling within City facilities.
E. Discussion topics for WSSC during September meeting
Members discussed topics for future discussion at the September meeting with WSSC.
F. Multi-Cultural Affairs meeting recap
Chair Wolf and member Hlavinka updated members on their attendance at a recent Multi-Cultural Affairs Committee meeting.
G. Carbon fee and dividend discussion
Members discussed options for recommending support of a carbon fee & divided proposal to the Mayor and City Council.
H. Green building overview with Economic and Business Development committee (meets 3rd Friday of each month at 7:45 am, except for August)
A future joint meeting topic of green building with the Economic and Business Development committee was discussed.
I. Discussion topics for joint meeting with Transportation Committee
This item was deferred.
J. Other
Road salt concentrations in streams was discussed.
