Rep. Jamie Raskin, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 8th district, has shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. His posts address environmental concerns, legislative actions, and constitutional principles.

On June 4, 2025, Rep. Raskin emphasized the importance of preserving oceans and their ecosystems by supporting government scientists and researchers. He stated, "To preserve our oceans, the waterways and the vibrant ecosystems they support, we need @NOAA." He criticized what he described as "the Trump Administration's full-blown assault on science, government and environmental laws."

Later that day, Rep. Raskin expressed his support for a legislative measure by announcing his vote in favor of the SUPPORT Act. He simply stated in his tweet: "My statement after voting in favor of the SUPPORT Act: https://t.co/MoRYNHm8US"

The following day, June 5, 2025, Rep. Raskin tweeted about fundamental democratic principles enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. He wrote: "Under our Constitution we have no kings, no queens, no emperors... just We the People." He stressed that public officials are ultimately "servants of the people."

Jamie Raskin has been serving Maryland’s 8th district since 2017 after replacing Chris Van Hollen. Born in Washington D.C., he is a Harvard University alumnus with degrees from both its undergraduate college and law school.
