Rep. Jamie Raskin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 8th district, shared a series of tweets on May 7, 2025, covering topics from Jewish American History Month to personal encouragement for an athlete. Raskin has been in office since 2017 after replacing Chris Van Hollen and previously served in the Maryland Senate.

In a tweet posted at 14:29 UTC, Rep. Raskin acknowledged Jewish American History Month by honoring "the achievements, contributions and sacrifices of Jewish Americans," particularly emphasizing their efforts for democracy and freedom. He stressed the importance of rejecting antisemitism and those who attempt to exploit it for power.

Later that day at 14:53 UTC, he humorously addressed a query with the message, "Happy to answer your spooky question, Mr. Chairman," accompanied by two links presumably providing further context or visual content related to his response.

At 16:00 UTC, Rep. Raskin expressed support for Katie Ledecky, a renowned swimmer from Montgomery County. He encouraged her with the words "Go, Katie, go!" and noted that her community is proud of her accomplishments while she continues to inspire young people both in sports and life.

Jamie Raskin was born in Washington D.C., in 1962 and resides in Takoma Park. He graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1983 and earned his JD from Harvard Law School in 1987.
