Rep. Jamie Raskin, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 8th district since 2017, has shared his thoughts on recent national issues through a series of tweets. His messages cover topics ranging from natural disasters to political and legal challenges.

On July 6, 2025, Rep. Raskin expressed his sorrow over reports of deadly flooding in Texas. He conveyed support for the affected families and communities, acknowledging the efforts of first responders with the statement: "Devastated by reports of deadly flooding in Texas and sending my support to all the families and communities reeling from the loss of loved ones. We thank the first responders risking their lives to save others from this nightmare."

Two days later, on July 8, 2025, he addressed what he described as an unconstitutional attack on women's access to health services provided by Planned Parenthood. In his tweet, Raskin stated: "MAGA’s assault on women’s access to Planned Parenthood’s basic health services is an unconstitutional reprisal & discrimination for their offering abortion services. This lawsuit fights for safe & affordable health care for everyone in every community."

Later that day, Rep. Raskin commented on a judicial ruling he believes could inspire further actions against federal workers under former President Trump's influence. He warned about potential threats to positions such as regional meteorologists and climate scientists: "This ruling will give Trump’s wrecking crew more awful ideas about sacking critical federal workers, like regional meteorologists with the National Weather Service and climate scientists at NOAA. No specific plan has been approved but America needs to tell Trump to stop."

Jamie Raskin was born in Washington D.C., currently resides in Takoma Park, and holds degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
