Representative Jamie Raskin shared his views through a series of tweets, expressing his opinions on current political matters, highlighting concerns in U.S. policy, and recognizing acts of courage. Raskin, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 8th District since 2017, is known for his forthrightness on various issues.

On April 8, 2025, Raskin remarked on regimes he perceives as authoritarian, noting their reliance on falsehoods and the courage of individuals who counter such regimes. He stated, "Authoritarian regimes run on lies. They fear the truth and people who act defiantly to tell the truth. The four patriots who testified against this regime during our spotlight hearing exemplify courage."

The following day, April 9, 2025, Raskin questioned Speaker Johnson's willingness to participate in critical debates and defend social programs. He inquired, "Will @SpeakerJohnson engage in the colloquy debate that is at the heart of floor process in the House of Representatives? Can he actually defend the outrageous attacks taking place against Medicaid, Social Security and federal workers?"

Later the same day, Raskin quoted Senator Ted Cruz regarding economic policy, criticizing the approach on tariffs under Donald Trump's presidency. He referenced Cruz, stating, "On President Trump's economic policy, nobody said it better than Ted Cruz: 'Tariffs are a tax on consumers, and I'm not a fan of jacking up taxes on American consumers.'"
