CITY OF ROCKVILLE: A ceremony of remembrance will commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day

City Of Rockville issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.

A ceremony of remembrance will commemorate International Overdose Awareness Day, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at Memorial Plaza, 101 Monroe Street (terrace between the Executive Office Building and Montgomery County Circuit Court). A resource fair featuring substance use prevention and treatment information begins at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be hosted by S.O.U.L. (Surviving Our Ultimate Loss), in partnership with Montgomery County, the Circuit Court’s Adult Drug Court, the City of Rockville and the Collaboration Council. The City of Rockville will host an evening of remembrance on Monday, Sept. 13, before the Mayor and Council’s first meeting following their summer recess. Doors open for that ceremony open at 5 p.m. with information and resources tables offering assistance from local organizations. The program will begin at 5:45 p.m. Learn more in September’s “Rockville Reports."
