City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
Artwork by Natalya Parris has been selected as the featured image for the Arts on the Green 2018 - 2019 season brochure. Parris responded to a Call for Artists that invited the creation of a unique design reflecting the variety of performing and visual arts activities that occur at the Arts Barn, including theatre, music, dance, film, comedy, magic, family, arts education & gallery exhibitions.
“We are delighted with Natalya’s painting,” says Arts Administrator Shellie Williams. “It captures the vibrant spirit of the Arts Barn and its role as a community arts center.”
In addition to gracing the season brochure, Parris’ artwork is on display in the Arts Barn and is featured on a commemorative ceramic mug, available for purchase for $9 in the Arts Barn City Shop.
Natalya Borisovna Parris was born in Moscow, Russia, where she earned basic and advanced degrees in construction engineering from the Moscow State Construction University. After moving to the United States, Parris worked as a professional artist, art instructor and curator. She expresses herself and her view of the world through color combinations and shapes.
