City of Rockville issued the following announcement on July 17.
Road Closures Will Impact Area Traffic
The Darcars Twilight Runfest, presented by the Rockville Rotary Foundation and the City of Rockville, celebrates its 33rd year by returning to Rockville! The 8-kilometer road race and 1-mile family fun run will be held Saturday, July 21.
The pre-race festival will begin in downtown Rockville at 6:30 p.m. Planned activities — weather permitting — include a live band, beer, community booths and vendors. The fun run will begin at 7:45 p.m.; the 8K will start at 8:15 p.m.
Beginning at noon, the following roads will be closed:
- South and North Washington Street, from East Jefferson Street to West Middle Lane.
- West Montgomery Avenue (eastbound only towards Courthouse Square, from North Washington to Adams streets).
For this week and race-day registration, the fee is $45. The 1-mile fun run is $10 per individual, $30 per family. Registration is open at rockvilletwilighter.org.
