Rep. Jamie Raskin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 8th district, has shared several updates via social media addressing both local and national issues. On June 18, 2025, Rep. Raskin expressed his commitment to aiding constituents in Israel and Iran through a tweet stating: "My team and I stand ready to assist constituents and their families currently in Israel and Iran. Later that day, he addressed a controversial Supreme Court ruling by tweeting: "The Supreme Court’s decision is an affront to equal protection and parental control over medical decision-making. Transgender young people and their families shouldn't have to fight to make the most personal medical decisions in consultation with their doctors."

On June 19, 2025, Raskin commemorated Juneteenth with a message reflecting on historical emancipation efforts while acknowledging ongoing challenges. He tweeted: "On Juneteenth, we commemorate the news of emancipation finally reaching America's last enslaved people, and we recommit to fighting to deliver the true promise of America for all, even against right-wing backlash."

Jamie Raskin has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Chris Van Hollen. Prior to this role, he was part of the Maryland Senate from 2007 until 2016. Born in Washington D.C., he graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1983 and later earned a JD from Harvard Law School in 1987.
