City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on July 13.
Several Gaithersburg neighborhoods are joining with more than 16,000 communities across the country to participate in the 35th Annual National Night Out (NNO) Against Crime campaign.
On Tuesday, August 7, these neighborhoods will hold events to increase drug prevention awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, encourage residents to be involved in their communities, and send a message that neighborhoods and businesses are organized to fight back against crime. The NNO programs help bring together residents, law enforcement agencies, local officials, civic groups, and neighborhood organizations.
Participating neighborhoods include:
Bennington (6:30 - 9 p.m.) Social event on the parcel k- Large grassy area bordered by Longdraft, Wade court, Oak Shade & E. Darby Ct.
Brighton Village Apartments (7 - 8:30 p.m.) – Social event near the playground area to rear of buildings 347-357 West Side Dr.
Casey Community Center (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.) – Indoor activities at the Community Center, 810 S. Frederick Ave.
Gaither House Apartments (5 - 7 p.m.) – Community pool
Kentlands/Lakelands (6 - 9 p.m.) – Activities at Clubhouse, 485 Tschiffely Square Rd.
Montgomery Meadows (5 - 8 p.m.) Travis Park, 391 Travis Ave.
Quince Orchard Park (6 - 8 p.m.) – Outdoor Picnic, 500 Highland Ridge Rd.
Saybrooke (6 - 9 p.m.) – Social event at community pool, 702 Saybrooke Oaks Blvd.
Summit Crest Apartments (6 - 8 p.m.) – Activities at Community Pool, 38 N. Summit Ave.
Whetstone Run (6 - 8 p.m.) – Block Party, 400 Block of Belle Grove Rd.
