3. Discussion Topics

A. Automotive Uses in the Central Business District - Proposed Zoning Text Amendment Staff presented an overview of the proposed zoning text amendment to allow - by special exception - automotive repair within the Central Business District (CBD), but outside the boundaries of the original Olde Towne District. The discussion also considered a second proposed amendment to prohibit self-storage facilities within the Olde Towne District.

Lacking a quorum, members did not vote on a recommendation but asked that staff convey support for both amendments to the Planning staff.

B. Relocation of Budd Car to Olde Towne Plaza

The proposed construction of a mixed use building on the Fishman Property requires that the Budd Car relocate from its current location. The committee reviewed the proposed changes to the

adjacent plaza, in which the Budd Car would move forward, to be adjacent to the Community Museum, and the Caboose would move north, parallel to the Budd Car. The City's Historic District Commission has conducted a "courtesy review" of the plans; the Maryland Historical Trust will conduct its own review.

Staff explained that the cost estimate for the relocation for these rail cars has escalated. The developer of the Fishman Property is reviewing the estimate.

4. Adjournment

There being no further business, the session was adjourned at 9:00 PM
