City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on June 22.
A&M Concrete, in conjunction with WSSC, will be performing the replacement and relocation of the existing water main along Summit Avenue in Olde Towne Gaithersburg. Work will take place overnight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday evenings through Friday mornings, June 24 - August 25, 2018, weather permitting. Streets will be impacted with construction traffic and noise. Some on-street parking may be temporarily blocked. Streets and sidewalks will be open and businesses will be accessible, but traffic may be delayed due to flagging operations or construction traffic.
This is part of the replacement of about 11,260 feet of water main in the commercial and residential areas of Olde Towne Gaithersburg that started in November, 2017 and is expected to conclude by December, 2018.
Impact to water service is expected to be minimal, but some disruption may occur. WSSC will provide 48-hour advance notice prior to any planned water service interruptions. In the event of a water or sewer emergency, contact the WSSC 24-hour Emergency Call Center at 301-206-4002.
A map of the impacted areas can be found below.
