Town of Chevy Chase Town Council met June 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

I. General Business

•Voted unanimously to approve Council meeting minutes.

• Voted unanimously to approve financial report.

• Heard and discussed Town Manager’s report.

• Heard public comments.

II. Variance Hearings

• The variance request was withdrawn by the applicants.

III. Council Discussions & Presentations

• Voted unanimously to adopt a revised speed hump policy, as proposed by the Town’s Public Services Committee.

• Voted unanimously to approve changes to the Town’s Neighborhood Watch Program, as proposed by the Town’s Public Services Committee. Discussed possible cooperative efforts with the Chevy Chase at Home organization to support the Town’s elderly and disabled residents.

• Discussed issues and efforts related to Purple Line mitigation. Discussed multiple proposed improvements to Zimmerman Park, including a sustainable garden, a pathway up to East West highway and a dog zone, and agreed to hold a public hearing on these prospective improvements at the September Council meeting.

• Discussed issues and efforts related to Bethesda Downtown Plan implementation.

IV. Adjournment

• The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
