3. Discussion Topics
A. City Staff Update
Staff Liaison Backe updated the committee on the recent Public Hearing on Building Energy Benchmarking and Transparency, recycling signage, and food composting.
B. City Council Update
This item was deferred.
C. Committee Updates
Doug Wolf
· shared thoughts regarding the planned Green Up event
Paul Hlavinka
· provided an update on the proposed Volksmarch and a proposed rain barrel workshop
D. AGU building presentation by Melissa Goodwin
Melissa Goodwin gave a brief presentation on the net zero building renovation of the AGU building in DC.
E. Carbon Fee and Dividend presentation by Steve Whelan, invited
Steve Whelan of the Citizen’s Climate Lobby gave a brief presentation on a carbon fee & dividend proposal.
F. Group Discussion
Members discussed the diversity and budget forum surveys. Marissa Msefya shared information on a Science, Business, and Education conference.
