Rep. Jamie Raskin, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland's 8th district since 2017, shared several insights and opinions through his social media account. Known for his legal background and political career, Raskin has served in the Maryland Senate before his current role in Congress.

On June 5, 2025, Raskin commented on Kanye West's stance by referencing a controversial phrase previously associated with President Trump. "Kanye obviously sees 'very fine people on both sides.'"

Later that day, Raskin addressed an ongoing issue involving former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. He noted the complexities surrounding government oversight and investigations: "Trump wants oversight of Musk's billions in government contracts and Musk wants oversight of Trump's role in the Epstein child sex abuse scandal. But you want to spend millions prolonging your spectacular flop of a probe of Joe Biden. I think we should subpoena your doctor."

On June 6, 2025, Raskin recognized Marsha DeWeese as the Local Hero for her volunteer work with animals: "This week’s #MD08 Local Hero Marsha DeWeese shows her profound love for cats volunteering with the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County and its excellent Chompers Pet Food Bank. Thank you, Marsha, for your dedication to our community and exemplary care for animals."

Jamie Raskin was born in Washington D.C., is currently residing in Takoma Park, graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1983 followed by a JD from Harvard Law School in 1987.
