Representative Jamie Raskin, serving Maryland's 8th district since 2017, recently expressed concerns and support via social media on issues concerning federal appointments, political influence on civil service, and personal solidarity. A Harvard University alumnus with a background in law, Raskin provides a critical voice in U.S. political discourse.

On April 26, 2025, Raskin voiced dissatisfaction with the nominee for U.S. Attorney in D.C., describing them as a "Jan. 6 conspiracy theorist" and objecting to their praise of "a white supremacist Hitler-lover" deemed an “extraordinary man, and extraordinary leader.” He questioned whether any Republicans would oppose what he labeled a "disgraceful nomination." "The nominee for U.S. Attorney in D.C. is a Jan. 6 conspiracy theorist and celebrant who praised a white supremacist Hitler-lover as an “extraordinary man, and extraordinary leader.” Are there no Republicans who will oppose this disgraceful nomination?"

We have to stop this."

On the same day, Raskin expressed personal support for fellow congressman Gerry Connolly, who is battling cancer. Raskin commended Connolly's dedication to federal workers and his enduring courage, offering his "love, support, and solidarity." "Gerry Connolly is a passionate champion for federal workers, a steadfast defender of the American people and a beloved friend. He will face this renewed cancer fight as he's faced other battles: with fierce bravery and grit. Sending my love, support and solidarity to a great"
