52 percent of applicants to Washington Adventist University were admitted for fall 2018

At Washington Adventist University, 66 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Takoma Park enrolled 1,131 students in fall 2018, including 960 in undergraduate and 171 in graduate programs, data shows. 9.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

58 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 34 percent are residents of other states. 6 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (44 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (18 percent).

The school admitted 52 percent of the 3,063 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 11 percent enrolled.
