City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.
The Department of Public Works will perform Street Construction Work on Girard Street (from North Summit Avenue to East Diamond Avenue), on Teachers Way (from North Summit Avenue to Girard Street), and on Professional Drive (from Frederick Road to Paramount Park Drive). The work will consist of crack sealing to fill the cracks on the existing pavement. The Girard Street construction work will also include selected curb and sidewalk replacement, pavement patching, and microsurfacing. The crack sealing work of all these streets is anticipated to begin October 31, 2018, weather permitting, and will continue for approximately three weeks. The resurfacing (microsurfacing) and associated works of Girard Street will follow in spring 2019.
“No Parking” signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of construction activity. These signs will be marked with the dates and times of the parking restrictions. If you plan to be away from your home for any length of time during this period, please make arrangements to have your vehicles parked off the street.
Work will take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more information and status updates please contact the Department of Public Works.
