Town of Poolesville Town Commissioners met Sept. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the commissioners:

CALL TO ORDER:

Commissioner Brown called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Commissioners Stump, Radigan and Klobukowski were in attendance as well as Town Engineer John Strong and Town Manager Wade Yost.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Commissioner Klobukowski lead the pledge.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Amie Hoeber, Republican Candidate for Congress 6th District addressed the Commissioners and residents.

Commissioner Klobukowski announced that he was scheduled to meet with Councilmember Katz regarding banning

*outdoor smoking in eating and drinking areas in. He also discussed 5g antenna roll out issues and a Oct. 20

*Montgomery County Chapter of MML meeting at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville.

Commissioner Jim Brown read an email from Jane Lehmen regarding the PTSA Back-To-School night. He also announced that he was scheduled to attend M.C. Planning meeting on the proposed grape crush facility.

OPEN FORUM:

Resident Jeff Yarmas discussed concerns with the potential expenses both initial construction and ongoing maintenance with the proposed Fisher Avenue streetscape plan. He also presented police data responding to local establishments.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Minutes of August 20, 2018

Commissioner Klobukowski motioned to approve. Seconded by Commissioner Radigan. Motion carried 4-0.

NEW BUSINESS:

None

OLD BUSINESS:

Streetscape

Jennifer Williams of ARRO Consulting presented the 100% Fisher Avenue Streetscape Plan as approved by the Poolesville Planning Commission. Cost opinions were also presented as part of the plan. The Commissioners and audience engaged in a discussion.

Commissioner Klobukowski motioned to adopt the 100% Plan as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Stump.

Motion carried 4-0.

TOWN MANAGER’S REPORT:

Manager Yost reported on sewer relining, manhole repairs, hurricane preparedness, Hazzard Mitigation Plan, TAMA water valve repairs and a proposed internet provider located on the water tank.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

PLANNING COMMISSION – Commissioner Stump reported that the Board is scheduled to meet on September 19th.

PARKS BOARD – Parks Board Chairmen Doug McKinney reported on the past meeting.

EVENTS COMMITTEE – Commissioner Radigan reported on Poolesville Day.

SCHOOL LIASON – Commissioner Klobukowski reported on the back to school nights and the M.U.F. meeting.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made to adjourn by Commissioner Klobukowski, seconded by Commissioner Stump. Motion passed 4-0.
