City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
The 2017 Annual Planning Report for the City of Gaithersburg has been submitted to the Maryland Planning Department.
Prepared by the City’s Planning and Code Administration and Economic Development staff, the 35 page report with the State-required Long Form Worksheet covers the period of January 1 – December 31, 2017, and includes an introduction and overview, information on current developments and a review of select City initiatives.
Highlighted are economic development, historic preservation, transportation, planning policies and procedures, environmental services and geographic information systems.
The overview of current development includes 2017 activity at Crown, Washingtonian North, Spectrum at Watkins Mill, and other development initiatives of note.
Also included in the report are maps that provide visual representation of 2017 planning activity.
The Development Patterns map shows development plans approved in 2017.
A Building Permits map plots commercial and residential building permits issued throughout the community, while the Transportation map not only shows streets built in 2017, but also proposed projects including the Corridor Cities Transitway and the Bus Rapid Transit corridor along Route 355.
