Town of Garrett Park issued the following announcement on Aug. 10.
The Town Engineering firm, Clark/Azar, is making an assessment of the entire drainage area which begins at the outfall approximately 200 feet south of the walkway to the CSX inlet approximately 400 feet north of the walkway. The purpose of the assessment is to develop recommended options for remediation of the causes of the problems.
The Town is reaching out to Montgomery County for help in correcting the problems including assistance with the cost of the remediation project. We will meet with County representatives on Monday to begin that process.
The Town is also looking at options for installing a temporary walkway or bridge to allow pedestrian and bicyclists to get through the area safely.
