At Washington Adventist University, 66 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Takoma Park enrolled 1,069 students in fall 2017, including 873 in undergraduate and 196 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

90 percent of undergraduates are residents of Maryland, and 10 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (46 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (15 percent).

The school admitted 61 percent of the 746 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
