Village of North Chevy Chase Council met March 20.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Adrian Andreassi (Chair); also in attendance were Brian Hoffner (Vice Chair), Maury Mechanick (Secretary), Chas Stuart (Treasurer), Fern Lapidus (Member), Bob Weesner (Village Manager) and other residents of VoNCC (list attached).


Secretary’s Report for February 2018 (Mechanick) – approved.

Treasurer’s Reports for February 2018 (Stuart) –Results for February 2018 included income of $61,956 and expenses of $9,391 (including waste removal, professional fees, and wages and taxes). Fiscal year to date income has exceeded expenses by $147,715. Total current assets as of February 2018, consisting of operating balance plus reserves, come to $1,324,578. No capital expenses were incurred in February, with capital expenses for fiscal year to date totaling $112,874.

Permits

          • 8911 Kensington Parkway – approved

Committee Reports

         • Purple Line Update – No further developments.

         • SHA/Jones Bridge Road – No further developments.

         • Chevy Chase Lake and Newdale Mews – Chevy Chase Supermarket closed on March 11, 2018.

Unfinished Business

          • Proposed Dog Park –Village Manager will re-contact SHA regarding this (Secretary’s note – subsequent to meeting the Village did receive a response indicating that SHA would entertain further discussions with the Village regarding this).

          • FY 2019 Operating and Capital Project Budgets – Conditionally approved budget for Fiscal Year 2019, with proposed budget to be included in April Village newsletter, with final approval to occur at April Council meeting.

New Business

          • Forest Glen Remediation – The Council was made aware of ongoing site contamination remediation activities undertaken by the U.S. Army Environmental Command at the Forest Glen Annex site adjacent to Jones Mill Road near the Village and will continue to monitor activities there with respect to possible impacts on Village residents and property.
