Town of Poolesville Town Commissioners met May 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commissioners:

Call To Order:

Commissioner Sneed called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. Commissioners Bupp, Schramm and Stump were in attendance, as well as Town Engineer John Strong and Town Manager Wade Yost.

Announcements:

Manager Yost announced that he had met with Mr. Willard and Mr. Clifford regarding a development proposal being developed for the property next to Whalen Commons. The plan would conform to existing zoning requirements and may be submitted this summer.

Open Forum:

Approval Of Minutes:

Commissioner Schramm moved to approve the minutes of April 25, 2018. Seconded by Commissioner Bupp. Motion carried 4-0.

Commissioner Tims joined the meeting

New Business:

Special Exception 001-18 – Dunkin Donuts – Eating and drinking establishment including a drive-in.

Scott Wolford of Maiser consulting and property owner Bill McGruder presented the proposal. After a lengthy discussion Commissioner Bupp motioned to recommend approval of the special exception to the BZA. Seconded by Commissioner Stump. Motion carried 5-0.

Commissioner Stump motioned to set a public hearing on June 13th as required for commercial site plans. Seconded by Commissioner Tims. Motion carried 5-0.

Old Business:

Request for Extension-

Josh Maisel, Vice-President of Benning and Associates presented the request. After a short discussion, Commissioner Stump motioned to approve an 18-month extension. Seconded by Commissioner Bupp. Motion carried 5-0.

Streetscape-

The Planning Commission discussed several parameters of the 60% Fisher Avenue Design Plan. The Board discussed features and design and recommended changes to be incorporated for the next presentation in June.

Adjournment:

Commissioner Bupp made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Stump. Motion passed 5-0.
