Town of Garrett Park issued the following announcement on July 2.
Please consider pre-registering for the July 4th parade as it will help us streamline the process on the day of the event (see link below). Onsite registration will also be available from 9:30 to 10:30 am on the day of the event for those of you who are not able to pre-register.
Pre-registration will close at 5 pm on July 2nd.

Note: While prize ribbons will only be awarded to children or adolescents 17 years of age or younger, we encourage everyone to embrace the spirit of the holiday and dress up either in patriotic colors or in accordance with the theme. If you would like to walk/ride in the parade but are not competing for a prize, you do not need to register.
Below are the 5 registration categories (you will be able to register for only one category per entry).
- FLOATS (includes wagons)
- INDIVIDUAL RIDERS (Bikes/Trykes/Scooters)
- GROUP OF RIDERS (2 or more riders on Bikes/Trykes/Scooters)
- INDIVIDUAL WALKERS (NO Groups, NO Wheels, NO Floats, NO Bikes/Trykes/Scooters)
- GROUP OF WALKERS (2 or more people, NO Wheels, NO Floats, NO Bikes/Trykes/Scooters)
So put your thinking caps on and be creative! First, second, and third place within each registration category will be awarded to the following:
- Most appropriate to the theme
- Most Humorous
- Most Original
7:30 am: Fun Run registration – All ages at Penn Place Parking Lot’
8:00 am: 2 mile fun run / walk Penn Place
9:30 am: Onsite registration /Parade forms (Garrett Park Elementary school parking)
10:30 Parade begins at Garrett Park Elementary School
Music and BBQ: Penn Place right after the parade.

1:00 pm: Pool Events
3:00 pm: 18th Annual Softball Game – G.P. Elementary
If the forecast calls for rain, the music and BBQ events will be at the Town Hall. We will make a call by 6pm on July 2.
