Rep. Jamie Raskin, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 8th district, has been vocal on several issues through his recent tweets. On December 5, 2024, Raskin addressed the importance of maintaining a nonpartisan approach to the national census. He urged House Republicans to collaborate with Democrats in ensuring that the Census Bureau receives adequate resources to fulfill its constitutional duty accurately. "Instead of reducing the census to a partisan tool, House Republicans should join Democrats in making sure the Bureau has the resources it needs so its expert, nonpartisan professionals can meet the clear constitutional mandate to complete an accurate count of our people."

On December 6, 2024, Raskin congratulated Rep. Greg Casar on being unanimously elected as chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. In his tweet, he expressed gratitude towards Rep. Pramila Jayapal for her previous leadership and emphasized a shared commitment to focusing on democratic values and prioritizing working people over cultural conflicts initiated by political opponents. "Congratulations to my friend @RepCasar on his unanimous election as chair of @USProgressives. Together, we'll ditch GOP culture wars, strengthen our democracy and put working people first. Grateful to @RepJayapal for her years of dogged leadership."

Later that day, Raskin announced his candidacy for becoming the leading Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee. He highlighted this move as part of a larger effort to protect foundational American documents and freedoms amidst ongoing political challenges. "I'm running to be the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee because we're in the fight of our lives defending the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and American freedom. We won't let anyone put the Constitution in a shredder."
