City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
The City of Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture is accepting applications for flag football, cross country, soccer and volleyball sports officials. Games take place at various locations throughout the City with evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities and duties include supervising games, organizing supplies and equipment, inspecting playing surfaces and equipment, maintaining appropriate level of control, fairness and consistency in all competitive situations, resolving participant conflicts, attending scheduled training or evaluation sessions, keeping proper records, and assisting in creating a positive and encouraging environment.
Basic youth sports experience and knowledge is required, and you must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Prior experience in officiating games and working with youth is preferred. Click here to apply.
