City of Gaithersburg Olde Towne Advisory Committee met February 8.

1. Call to Order


     The Regular Session of the Olde Towne Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:45 PM with

     Chair Leonard Levy presiding.

2. Approval of Minutes

     A. Regular Session held November 9, 2017

         Motion was made to approve the above minutes.

3. Discussion Topics

     A. Update on Plaza and Fishman Site Projects

     Staff provided the following information:

     - Construction on the plaza will resume when the weather improves. Remaining tasks include

     completion of the fountains; installation of brick pavers, plants and bioretention features;

     completion of the parking lot.

     - Ellisdale Construction and the City will finalize the development agreement, soon. Planning staff

      is reviewing the preliminary and final site plans. Construction should start on the mixed-use

     building in late summer, early fall. The project includes relocation of the Budd Car to the plaza.

     B. Discussion of Projects Appropriate for Future State Grant Applications

     The group considered a variety of possible capital improvements that could be eligible for grants

     from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Brainstorming

     produced suggestions that included streetscape enhancements, parking garage lighting,

     stormwater management improvements, additional funding for the City's Toolbox incentive

     program (which supplements facade, signage, landscaping, tenant improvements and demolition

     costs for Olde Towne businesses), and an ice rink.

4. Adjournment

     There being no further business, the session was adjourned at 8:55 PM
