Cost of college went up for all students at the Hair Expressions Academy

Tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at the Hair Expressions Academy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Maryland students paid $16,800 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $500 more than the $16,300 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 85 students received grants or scholarships totaling $365,288 and 85 students took out student loans totaling more than $493,215.

Including all undergraduates (103), 97 students used grants or scholarships totaling $398,674, and 85 students took out $593,216 in federal student loans.
