Silver Spring home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Silver Spring rose by $28,750 while total sales increased by 23.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 158 homes sold, with a median sale price of $492,500 - a 6.2% increase over the $463,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 128 homes sold in Silver Spring in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Silver Spring for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $5,050, approximately 1% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2018.
