Gaithersburg home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Gaithersburg rose by $12,200 while total sales increased by 8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were 162 homes sold, with a median sale price of $464,950 - a 2.7% increase over the $452,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 150 homes sold in Gaithersburg in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Gaithersburg for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $5,166, approximately 1.1% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2018.
