ASHP RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FOUNDATION: Pharmacy Residency Expansion Grant Program

ASHP Research and Education Foundation issued the following announcement on Dec. 29.

The ASHP Foundation awards $25,000 grants to assist institutions with offering a new or expanded residency position. Institutions applying for the grant must agree to secure supplemental funds.

The overarching goal of the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Residency Expansion Grant Program is to expand the number of ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency positions.

Program Eligibility

Below are a few key items of eligibility. *Residency sites who have received this grant within 5 years of the most current application cycle are not eligible to apply for that year’s program.

1.This funding opportunity is available for PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency training. Those that fall under the residency categories of Community or Managed Care not eligible for funding under this program.

2.Grants are available for the one program year only.

3.Positions funded by the ASHP Foundation must be included in the ASHP Resident Matching Program.

4.It is not the intent of this program to fund existing positions.

5.Funding is limited to:

•ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency programs

•Pharmacy residency programs with ASHP Candidate Status

•Pharmacy residency programs with ASHP Pre-Candidate Status

•Pharmacy residency programs with Preliminary Accreditation Status that are in the ASHP accreditation process prior to December 31st of the applicant year.
