City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on Nov. 19.

The City of Gaithersburg presents two Farmers Markets, providing residents with locally grown produce throughout the growing season. The variety of fruits and vegetables changes weekly as different crops reach maturity.

The Main Street Farmers & Artists Market is open Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., year round, with several local farms, kitchens, and a variety of local artists with unique handcrafted items. Products available for purchase include a vast assortment of fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, various herbs, cut flowers, and potted plants, baked goods, crab cakes, dog treats, meat, pickles, eggs, and honey. Our arts and craft vendors sell jewelry, photographs, health and beauty products, blown glass, knitted items, quilts, purses, woodworking items, clothing, children’s accessories, yard art, and more.

The Main Street Holiday Market

Held alongside the Farmers & Artists Market on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Shop for unique holiday gifts & fresh seasonal produce. Watch glass blowing demonstrations, live holiday music with the Gaithersburg Chorus, and enjoy visits with Frosty, Rudolph, Elmo & Cookie Monster. Free gift wrapping available & giveaways for children.

The Fulks Corner Farmers Market is open Thursdays, 12:30 to 6 p.m., May through mid-November. The market is located corner of Route 355 & Fulks Corner Avenue in Olde Towne. There are no crafters at this market. Available products include a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, herbs, flowers and plants, honey, cider, fruit butters, baked goods, and a variety of meat.

Both markets accept WIC, FVC and FMNP checks. Scenic View Orchards at Fulks Corner Market in Olde Towne also accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds to purchase fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables.
