CITY OF TAKOMA PARK: Monster Bash is coming Saturday, October 27

City of Takoma Park issued the following announcement on Oct. 18.

Monster Bash is coming to Takoma Park on Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in Old Town Takoma Park

The Takoma Park Recreation Department staff has prepared a host of events that are designed for the entire family. Monster Bash will kick off at 1:00 p.m. at Ethan Allen & Carroll Avenues with mixing and mingling with your neighbors (highlighted by a DJ and roving entertainment). This will be followed by the Annual Costume Contest and Parade that will weave down Carroll Avenue. We will end the festivities with the Costume Award Ceremony and Celebration at Laurel & Carroll Avenues.

Walking to this event is encouraged. Volunteers needed (SSL hours approved).

In order to hold the event and ensure patron safety, we have anticipated road blockages. Please visit https://takomaparkmd.gov/government/recreation/monster-bash/ to see street closures and more.

Monster Bash Street Closures

In order to hold the event and ensure patron safety, we will have the following road blockages:

  • The intersections of Carroll Avenue/Ethan Allen, Philadelphia Avenue/Holt Avenue, Spruce Avenue/ Park Avenue and Carroll Avenue/Philadelphia Avenue will be closed from 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Rolling road closures will be at the following intersections: Park Avenue/Carroll Avenue, Columbia Avenue/Carroll Avenue & Tulip Avenue/Carroll Avenue from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • There will be continuous road blocks at the following intersections; Westmoreland Avenue/Carroll Avenue, Carroll Avenue/Laurel Avenue, Laurel Avenue/ Willow Avenue & Laurel Avenue/Eastern Avenue from 1:00 p.m. -5:30 p.m.
  • Ride-On and Metro bus service will be interrupted on the aforementioned streets from approximately 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • We are expecting to re-open the streets by 6:00 p.m.  During the time of the street closure, you will not be able to enter or exit your driveway.
