On Saturday, March 7, Katie Lawson, a former standout at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, helped lead her collegiate team, the Washington and Lee Generals, to a 61-55 win over the Christopher Newport Captains in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
Held at Holekamp Gym at 8 p.m., this marked the Generals’ first tournament matchup against the Christopher Newport Captains.
Washington and Lee will face their next opponent on Friday, March 13, with the game tipping off at 8 p.m. at Holekamp Gym.
