On April 1, 2025, Rep. Raskin addressed a legal issue involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in a tweet. He criticized ICE for what he described as an “error” in deporting an immigrant living in Maryland who has no criminal record. Raskin emphasized that this action represents “a blatant violation of Due Process and the U.S. Constitution,” adding, “And he was not your only ‘error.'” “Your lawyers admitted in federal court that ICE made an “error” by deporting an immigrant who lives in Maryland with no criminal record.”
In a subsequent tweet on April 1, 2025, Raskin reflected on the current political climate, highlighting the importance of the legal profession in defending constitutional principles.
