Jamie Raskin has served as Maryland’s 8th District representative since replacing Chris Van Hollen in 2017. Before his congressional service, he was active in state politics from 2007 through 2016 as a member of the Maryland Senate. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1962 and currently residing in Takoma Park, Raskin graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1983 and earned his JD from Harvard Law School in 1987.
