In the first quarter of 2026, Montgomery Village Care Center, owned by Montgomery Operator Holdco, LLC, received a five-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Located in Montgomery County, the facility has operated under the ownership of Montgomery Operator Holdco, LLC since March 1, 2022.

The facility is classified as for-profit.

Throughout this period, Montgomery Village Care Center’s five-star CMS rating surpassed Maryland’s nursing home state average rating of 3.1. CMS evaluates homes using key metrics, including health inspection performance, staffing, and quality of care delivered to residents.

Data shows the nursing home cared for an average of 161.6 residents per day during the first quarter of 2026, with a capacity of 147 beds. Montgomery Village Care Center is currently not affiliated with a hospital.

No fines or penalties were recorded for the center during the first quarter of 2026.

Montgomery County reported a total of 28 for-profit nursing homes.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the population of older adults nationwide continues to increase, while the number of children is declining. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and up grew by 13%, as those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. Over the past century, the older adult population has surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 report found that about half of the older adult population—almost 28 million—will need long-term services and support. The study also forecasts that more than a third may eventually require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education association. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
