Rep. Jamie Raskin, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 8th district since 2017, posted a series of tweets on March 11, 2026, addressing regional environmental concerns, national economic issues, and government spending.

In his first post at 20:44 UTC, Raskin called for transparency from local authorities regarding water safety: “DC Water should explain to affected Montgomery County residents and everyone in the region how they will protect us against the shockingly high levels of E. coli recorded near the C&O Canal and the Potomac River by the Potomac Riverkeeper Network. The sewage spill has generated a”.

Later that evening at 21:01 UTC, he criticized former President Donald Trump’s economic policies: “Donald Trump promised to lower costs on Day One, but tens of millions of Americans are struggling to pay for groceries, rent and health care.

Jamie Raskin was born in Washington, D.C., in 1962 and currently resides in Takoma Park. He graduated from Harvard University with a BA in 1983 and earned his JD from Harvard Law School in 1987. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016.
