Rep. Jamie Raskin, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 8th district, recently posted several comments on his official X account addressing both political and cultural topics.

On September 22, 2025, Raskin wrote: “I’m not a doctor either but I’m pretty sure the Trump administration has a serious staff infection.”

Later that day, he marked the Jewish New Year with a message to his constituents and fellow Jewish Americans: “During Rosh Hashanah, we reflect on the blessings of our year and its sorrows and challenges. To my fellow Jewish Americans observing in MD-08 and across America: Shanah Tovah! May your 5786 be filled with sweetness and justice.”

On September 23, 2025, Raskin addressed allegations involving former Trump official Tom Homan. He stated: “Attorney General Bondi and Director Patel: We’re told you have video of Trump official Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in cash bribes stuffed into a CAVA bag in exchange for corruptly steering government contracts. America smells a rat. Release the tapes now!”

Jamie Raskin has served in Congress since 2017 after replacing Chris Van Hollen as representative for Maryland’s 8th district. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016. Born in Washington D.C. in 1962, Raskin is currently 60 years old and resides in Takoma Park. He holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University.
