Rep. Jamie Raskin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 8th district since 2017, posted several messages on his official social media account between August 26 and August 27, 2025.

On August 26, Raskin commented on the day’s events by posting, “Busy news day, I’m told by @brikeilarcnn.”

The following day, he highlighted National Dog Day and promoted his legislative efforts for animal welfare. On August 27, he wrote: “It’s National Dog Day! Congress can honor our four-legged friends by passing the BARK Act—my bipartisan legislation to feed more hungry shelter pets without spending a dime of taxpayer money.”

Later that morning, Raskin addressed economic issues and called on the president regarding transparency related to Jeffrey Epstein. In his post from August 27, he stated: “THANK YOU, MR. PRESIDENT. YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY A MASTERMIND OF TRADE. WE ARE NOW PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE FOR OUR BASIC NEEDS. YOU BROKE YOUR PROMISE TO LOWER PRICES ON DAY ONE BUT YOU CAN KEEP YOUR PROMISE TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILE, SIR!!”

Jamie Raskin has represented Maryland’s 8th District in Congress since succeeding Chris Van Hollen in 2017 and previously served in the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1962 and resides in Takoma Park. Raskin holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University.
