U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin, who represents Maryland’s 8th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 6, 2026, addressing recent political developments and funding initiatives for his constituents.

In a post published at 20:53 UTC, Raskin called for immediate action regarding personnel at the White House following a controversial post by former President Trump. He stated, “Everyone in the White House involved in any way with that vile, sickening racist Trump post must be fired immediately: everyone in the communications department, everyone in the press office, every deputy chief of staff, everyone involved up and down the line. Not one more tax https://t.co/RJCWoHEwSq”.

Shortly after, at 21:15 UTC, Raskin posted a tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/usbKMvfcHv”.

At the same time, he addressed his local constituents directly regarding federal funding achievements. Raskin wrote, “MoCo Constituents: we’ve secured over $16.5 million in federal funding for critical projects in MD-08. These are investments in workforce development, public safety & infrastructure. Even as Trump squanders money on everything from unauthorized demolition of the White House East”.

Jamie Raskin has served as U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 8th District since 2017 and succeeded Chris Van Hollen in this role. Before joining Congress, he served on the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016 and previously worked in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Washington D.C. in 1962 and currently residing in Takoma Park, Raskin holds degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
