Jamie Raskin has served as Maryland’s 8th District representative since 2017 after succeeding Chris Van Hollen. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1962, Raskin currently resides in Takoma Park. He holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University.
