On Friday, May 16, former Our Lady of Good Counsel High School standout Simone Thompson’s current collegiate team the Christopher Newport Captains won 8-3 against the Alfred Saxons in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship.
The game took place at Captains Park at 4:15 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Alfred Saxons in the tournament.
The Christopher Newport Captains’ next game will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at Captains Park.
