The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted an inspection at Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe in Lake City on Feb. 4 to assess foodborne biological hazards, according to information available on the FDA’s website.
The inspection’s final report stated that Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe was not required to make any changes to the organization’s operational practices.
The FDA performs regular inspections at facilities nationwide to ensure workplaces and products follow FDA-regulated standards developed to promote public health. The findings of these inspections are released to the public.
According to its website, the FDA serves as a federal agency overseeing the oversight of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco goods to confirm their safety and quality.
