During an April 21 inspection regarding Foodborne Biological Hazards, Yara Test Company in Fair Lawn was cited three times by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to information posted on the FDA’s website.
According to the FDA’s website, the company was cited for the following:
- ‘You did not develop an FSVP.’
- ‘You did not establish written procedures to ensure that you import foods only from approved foreign suppliers.’
- ‘You did not establish written procedures for ensuring that appropriate foreign supplier verification activities are conducted with respect to a food you import.’
The FDA conducts regular inspections nationwide to confirm facilities and their products meet FDA-regulated guidelines, which are intended to protect public health. The findings are published in the public domain.
According to its website, the FDA oversees the safety and quality of human and animal drugs, biological items, medical products and tobacco through monitoring production and distribution.
