The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cited Andres Farms, LLC in Keaau for two violations during a March 17 inspection regarding foodborne biological hazards, based on information from the FDA’s website.
FDA records show the company was cited for the following:
- ‘You did not provide employee training that includes principles of food hygiene and food safety, the importance of health and personal hygiene for all personnel and visitors and produce safety standards applicable to the employee’s job responsibilities.’
- ‘You did not establish and keep documentation of the date and method of cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.’
The FDA conducts routine inspections to assess whether workplaces and products adhere to FDA-regulated laws and rules aimed at improving public health. The results of these inspections are made public.
The agency’s website states that the FDA oversees the safety and quality of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products.
