During a Feb. 3 inspection focused on foodborne biological hazards, Aadji & Manten International, LLC in Rockville was cited once by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as reported on the FDA’s website.
The FDA data indicates the company received a citation for this issue: ‘As a very small importer, you did not obtain written assurance, before importing a food, that your foreign supplier produced the food in compliance with process and procedures that provide the required level of public health protection.’
The FDA regularly inspects facilities nationwide to check whether workplaces and their products comply with FDA laws and regulations designed to enhance public health. The results of these inspections are made available to the public.
The FDA’s website states that the agency is mainly responsible for overseeing the safety and quality of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products.
