While you’re there, you can also register to join the Maryland Department of Transportation for a series of Walktober webinars. The first “walkinar,” on Thursday, Oct. 7, looks at national efforts to increase walkability, including the evolution of pedestrian infrastructure and the challenges walkability efforts face. Others, from 10:30 a.m.-noon each Thursday through the month, focus on walking as a core component of healthy living, pedestrian safety and a look at how Maryland communities are promoting safe walking activities.
