On Friday, March 13, Ava James, a former Walt Whitman High School player, and her current team, the Bates Bobcats, were defeated 76-59 by the Scranton Lady Royals in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.

The game began at 7 p.m. at John Long Center and marked the Bobcats’ first faceoff against the Scranton Lady Royals in tournament play.
